Very strange indeed

Take the top 3 (non GWX) mods out then enable the emblems. If a CTD occurs then it's highly likely a graphical resolution issue....but I honestly can't see why. The problem being, I don't know what is in those three mods.

I agree with Jim. That is very strange. All my mod does is replacing TGA files so it should be 100% compatible with any other mod.

Schroeder, you could by-pass using JSGME and just copy the emblems straight to your emblems folder, that way it won't clash with anything And you still get to see/use them

If he does that he MUST back up his original emblems folder first....just in case.

I will try some stuff later. I'm in the middle of a patrol right now. But it is really strange.

*Edit*
I returned from my shakedown patrol and have then placed the .tga files into the subemblems folder. After that I can't select any subemblems in the game anymore....

This is getting stranger and stranger...

Yup, i also had problems, found this to be the cause of my patrols starting at dead centre of the map and crashing after 30 seconds!

I honestly dont know why though, as theyre only .tga files and i can see no reason for them causing problems with anything else

There is definitely a problem here...I have checked a random sample of emblems and they appear to be the correct size and file type and therefore cpmpatable with existing emblems.

I have rewritten the file structure, copied and pasted into existing files (after backing up of course), mixed with other emblem packs etc. etc. yet still get the hydrophones destroyed message and a CTD after aproximately 30 seconds post loading.

I'm not about to check the innards of 380+ files but my guess is that one or more files have something embedded in them that clashes with the existing game installation.

I notice (and not meant in a critical context) conus00 has not been on the forum since his last post on this thread and sincerely hope he is too busy sorting out the problems with the mod.

In an ideal world mods are tested thoroughly before they are released, sadly the odd one slips through....that is one of the drawbacks of game modding I suppose.

My advice is to leave this mod well alone until the problems have been rectified.

I hope he can sort it out. It were be a shame if so much great work would be lost.

Most of the files have [ ] in the names.
ILLEGAL NAMING CONVENTION!!

Change them to ( ) or delete them.

If you get Flash Renamer,
it will rename the files in mass.
change [ to _
and ] to nothing

I've already done this and works fine now.
