That bseems a bit much, but in RFB I was attacked at 75ft,so I tried 80,actually 82ft,and have not been bothered

I do not think it would be possible to spot a sub at 150 feet... much less 200. Sorry but that doesn't seem right to me either. Is TMO supposed to be a realistic sim? Or just an extra difficult one? Or would it ever be possible to spot a sub that deep in real life from the surface? Correct me if I am wrong but it just doesn't seem right... you cannot see a white sandy bottom 150 feet down!

In the real world, spotting a sub at 150 feet would be tough. Being able to see it so clearly that you could tell which way it was going and how deep it was would be just as difficult. Spotting the sub, figuring where to place your weapons and actually being able to hit it should be almost impossible. Of course, that wouldn't apply to a P-3 with ASW Torpedoes.

I remember seeing a photo of a U-Boat at periscope depth taken from a B-24 just before killing it. The caption said that the weather and sea conditions had to be just right or they would have missed it.

The one bad thing that I have noticed so far is transiting with high time compression on the surface. On the way home, I found my self suddenly in the middle of a convoy, surrounded by escorts and promptly damaged so badly that diving was a one way trip down. Thankfully I had saved the game before leaving the patrol area. Gotta be careful until getting past Midway.

I don't really know much about TMO. I did try it,but prefer RFB,but that's personal choice I guess.

Somewhere I have reports of RAF pilots seing U-boats at 90 meters depth in Norway. That's 295 feet...
I don't recall the numbers from the Pacific, but there is a thread somewhere...

That's pretty hard to believe, spotting a sub at that depth.
