Are we allowed to know what is going into GWX3.0? or is it a secret?

All in due time, but be sure that you will love the final outcome

If you can play GWX2.1 you should be fine with the version 3.0. As a rule of thumb if you can play SH3 at the recommended settings (i.e. 1GB of RAM etc) you should be fine with GWX.

I know if they add community units and AOTD, my pc crash, also with some ships of vondos, the UAS mod with the great airplaine sound are to heavy for my soundcard.
Im hoping these mod's are included and many others, because soon i buy a new pc :p
PC is 7 years old and only my card 7800GS makes the games of today work the rest is minor CPU 1.90 HGz, 1 GB Virtual Memory
I seriously doubt the community units or AOTDs units will be in GWX gold
Nor Iambecomes MFM as not released yet and even if was wouldnt be in

My guestimate anyway

Well considering Privateer and I were just discussing this last night and it's not even public yet over at The Lair.....I suppose it is a secret at this precise moment in time :hmm:

What I don't think Privateer will mind me sharing is the fact that GWX3.0 is going to be pitched at the new enthusiast as well as those already enjoying the mod.

A kind of 'one stop shop' if you like.

There will be options and mods incorporated into the install but no longer the need to install (and I use mine as an example) say 55 separate mods.

Those that aren't in will be because they may cause conflicts with GWX, but that's not to say that modders will not be creating or modifying existing mods to make them compatable with GWX3.0 after it's release.

In the meantime I would heed the pearls of wisdom from BBW and Mel above.

I'm hoping for an option for Uberboot. I'd love to blow a battleship out of the water!

Or is it just a fix to make some other great mods to work together : community units, life boat debris, funnel smoke, some new ships, new st Nazaire harbour, Thomsen's ships, for example.:hmm:
I'm looking forward to this

These are just my personal guesses but from what I've seen/read on the modding forum...
  • Obviously we can expect all the various GWX2.1 bugfixes to be included. Installing these caused a lot of confusion for people so it'll be nice to have them installed correctly and automatically by the installer.
  • I very much doubt that "Thomsens Ships" will be included. Nor will any of PT's other mods, for that matter. STz's "Sinking Ships Fix" however, just might be in there...?
  • I doubt that my GUI will be included. It was not included in 2.1 and the same reasons for it's exclusion apply now just as they did then. However, I imagine my GUI will be just as compatible with GWX3 as it is with GWX2.
  • There's some new funnel smoke effects in the works, I think. No screenshots of the GWX3 version yet, but the NYGM version (which is already released) looks very nice, and in that thread people mentioned a GWX3 version is in the works.
  • KL stated that Rubini's water stream mod will not be included.
That's as much as I've been able to work out, so far. Anyone else got any info?

I've got longer wakes in GWX 2.1 including the community & AOTD-AA-Ships. Even though I've got a really good PC, there's some lag at high TC.
