Ok. I have finished three patrols so far without crashes. Community units is definitely the problem. My CU folders has 45 ships in it. It would be possible to go through it and try to find out which one is actually causing the problems but unfortunately I don't have that much time.

Community units don't cause any trouble in my system.
I think it's Racerboy's SH4 effects to SH3 2.03. I had similar crashes on torpedo impact when I was using that mod.

Racerboys SH4 effects for SH3 caused exactly the same problem for me - CTDs when torpedoes hitting. Try disabling it and see what happens.

There seems to be some clash between Racerboy's effects and some Community units. The game will run without the crash when I have enabled only one of them. When I enable both...booom....CTD.

I guess is only the latest Version of the Effects mod. Since my older setup, run both!:hmm:

is it possible for you to note the types of ships before you attack so when you get the ctd you can specify certain suspect ships? by doing this we can pin it to a specific ship or group of ships.
that would go a long way to solving the question of the actual "cause", then you can pin it to a specific mod and at the same time maybe help make that mod better by correcting what seems to be a conflict somewhere. |
