Yep.. you can. =)

I use IE 7 and Firefox, since some pages do not work properly in FF, I also run both in a Sandbox. Never had a problem with Active X stuff ever since.

You can have several browsers, in fact, many different browsers, installed on your computer at the same time and they won't interfere with each other in any way. Try each one and see for yourself which one suits you the best.

My recommendation is that you try (some, or all) Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, and Safari. All are pretty fast (faster than IE, in my experience), but the fastest so far (on my machine) is Chrome. The disadvantage of Chrome is that it has only a very basic bookmarks and history functions, and is not as moddable as Firefox is, since it is in beta status, and will probably remain so for a looong time (as many other Google apps).

But if I had to pick out one single browser, I would say Firefox 3.x. IMHO it's fast, pretty secure, and moddable with hundreds of add-ons, some of which are really awesome.

I agree

I haven't tried Chrome yet, just downloading.

I've been using it for a few days, haven't seen anything too revolutionary yet and only a couple of minor snags (to me anyway).

I am using it right now @ work, as they wont go with Foxfire, and it works, and there are just some business websites that wont function properly with FoxFire.
Overall, I like Foxfire better, but IE8-Beta is not bad.

I use IE7, though once Google Chrome gets middle mouse button support implemented I will probably move to that.

Firefox and IE 8

For the most part, I stick with Firefox, although I occasionally use IE 7 when necessary (such as to download XP updates- no, I haven't switched to Vista yet ). I haven't tried IE 8 yet though - I want to hear more feedback first.

IMO, use which ever has the most use for you and is the easiest to work with, in your opinion.

I've been using the IE8 Beta for about six months now, and really like it, especially the function that automatically asks if you want to search Google for anything you highlight.

To anyone using Opera,I have a small problem :

For instance when writing this text, and want to put an emoticon, when I click on it, it gives the text only ( like this : ) but not the emoticon itself.
also if I want to underline a text ( like this first part of sentence ) that I try to underline, it gives me :
also if I want to underline a text
also if I want to underline a text that the result with Bold
also if I want to underline a text that the result with Italic

I know I could avoid to make you all loose your time with those non SH3 stuff, by reading 2 dozen pages on the net, or the "How to use" Opera, but if someone has a straight foeward knowledge of this or an intuition...

Thanks, sorry for the bother.
