i agree such message can lead to distress , just find a quiet place in the atlantic surface your boat allow your crew to have a drink go to the bridge have a drink or smoke a cigar whatever you like and the answer'll come by itself , i'm with you in such moment . jpm1

I wonder why are the Allies still hostile after the end of the war (until August '45 I think)?. It would be nice to get the order to sail into nearest Allied port and surrender.
![]() Although I'm not realy sure it is historically accurate. :hmm:

I believe some of them did....sail to outer port entrances, hoisted a black flag, were boarded and sailed in.

i say, sail to South America, collect your goodies and once again hit the Irish coast with your alternative payload! - http://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/mhidojcwojmh/
Its all ahead of you then......provided that you don't get nabbed! On another note, my father (now 82) recalls hearing of the said presence of U-boats refueling and seeking both repairs and provisions in the West of Ireland, can anyone substantiate this?? He never saw this himself as he was busy stealing tyres and cables off HMS craft in Cork harbor under the cover of night with his old man! No offense to my friends and comrades over the little water but times were hard back then, even for the Paddy's! :-)

I'd either go to port or, after a careful talk with my crew, not as their kaleun but as a comrade, would report a "massive and fatal mechanical failure" and scuttle the boat making sure that all the hands would reach safety.

Good shots, jimbuna.
It's sad to see all those boats laying broken at the bottom...
