I don't know how much I could help you with maritime law, but I could help with some of the gruntwork. Jut PM me if you want anything looked up, and I'll try to provide a link and a brief summary.

Hey, thanks. I know our PM conversation was left hanging, but if you wind up with stuff you want me to take a look at, just forward it on over.

Sure thing. I'll start looking in the morning. I have to go to work in about 15 minutes here.

I'll have to post my next move in the morning, too. I need more time to think about it. I have something special planned for you, but I need to gain tempo to do it. I want to make sure I don't mess it all up by acting in haste.

(in the interests of space I'll only post the last move from now on, maybe a full moves list every 3-4 moves)

I was already wondering how long you would endure that!

Damn, you're giving me a run for my money, here. I did better in the match where I kept mapping the moves wrong . Maybe it's time for some crazy exchanges:p

As far as your piracy study goes:

Here's a book ;
http://www.maritimeterrorism.com/200...ime-terrorism/

A "Wired" blog with a little persepective on Somali piracy. Skybird touched on this in another thread. Maybe he could help as well. He sent me an excellent essay on Islamic militarism in Afghanistan, and he may have some valuable perspective on the relationship between contemporary piracy and African Islamic states.
http://blog.wired.com/defense/2008/1...ia-piracy.html

A news story concerning the economic damages inflicted by piracy
http://tvnz.co.nz/view/page/411319/2172111

Once again, it deals with Somali piracy, and I don't know if that is what you are looking at specifically. Contemporary piracy is a broad subject. PM me with a detailed description regarding the state of your thesis and exactly what kind of information you are looking for, as well as what kind of a point you want to make. Or you could just assign me to look at a specific aspect of contemporary piracy. Economic damages, history of piracy, current pirate organizations, pirate tactics, etc. etc.

Search results for "contemporary piracy" mostly yield artcles and blogs about internet piracy. Searches for maritime piracy tend to yield results concerning international law.

Give me a slightly narrower search area, and I'll get you some info.

Ahh, thank you. I will peruse these. I have a running folder of bookmarks of all kind of piracy-related news articles. When the scope of the research is narrowed a bit I'll know better what I'm after.

EDIT: And don't you think I was giving you that easy mate, either

Take your time, I was just didn't want it to slip to the second page when I go to work. Clicking on that little "2" is such a hassle

I think white may be in trouble, though. Maybe I shouldn't have tried to pull off that easy mate

Indeed, this will be a particularly gory battle for the centre, but I think I may have a slight edge.
