Personally, I would much rather see Gorby in some sort of an international role. Make him some sort of special envoy between the EU and Russia, or something of that sort. I think he'd make an excellent and well-respected figure to conduct international politics and he has a good record for being conciliatory (even if he went too far with it sometimes). I just don't think he'd be able to handle Russia's internal politics.

I forgot to add, i saw gorby, back in 1985 when I came to the US. He spoke at my dad's workplace.
