RSRDC Phase III has not made any changes to Airstrike.cfg.

What is the game time in that pic? I can't make it out.

Also, the airstike.cfg (don't quote me on this) only decides on the response the game gives when a sub is 'Detected'. It doesn't decide what time to put the planes in the air and it doesn't have any bearing on air patrol paths. It merely decides if it has a base in range to strike you with upon detection.

If you are currently not engaged or have not been seen by enemies, then the 'airstrike' file will not do anything.

If I a'm wrong on this then someone feel free to interject here. But thats my understanding of it.

I wonder...all you people who made changes to aircraft.cfg and said it didn't work, were you in port when you made those changes? The game might not register the changes if you're in mid-patrol. :hmm:

Just thinking outside the box, but could this be something to do with the 1.4 patch? If not, then it obviously has to have something to do with one of the mods, not casting stones, but it's a logical conclusion. It's as if the temporal matrix is disregarded.

I also noticed zero warships. I steamed from Fremantle all the way to the South China Sea and sank about 9 ships, and saw no escorts, nor any warship for that matter, only planes at night.

Has anyone had any luck with this? I am in the Marshalls in December 1942 and I am getting attacked by aircraft every few hours, around the clock, I have yet to see more than 1 Maru (I have been patrolling the Marshalls now for a week+) and my Petty Officer seconded to the AA gun has taken down 10 (yes, TEN) Zero's and 2 seaplanes so far, and his trigger finger is getting mighty sore.....

I am running TM 1.7.6 + RSRDC v320 + the RSRDC patch for TM.

The gameplay took a steep dive in enjoyment because of this. It's frustrating having to dive every few hours. For that I'm gonna lock Ducimus in his own house! Going back to RFB until this is solved.

I'm not sure what's going on at Midway (months/years after the battle). Never been attacked by them. As an experiment I put the crew on "Attack incoming aircraft attacking the boat" or whatever that command is - just to see what they would do and those pairs of planes just fly around (I know they see me) so I think they are just Allied planes on patrol. They haven't attacked.

As for the night modifier maybe try another 10x ... mine is:
Night Modifier=0.005 ... I think stock is: Night Modifier=0.5
I changed this while out on patrol and it made an immediate difference in night attacks. Now I have none.

Hope this helps.

I have set the night attack modifier to 0.01 and ran into a few planes at night. It is a lot less than it was before I changed it to 0.01. The times I would run into them would be between 2 and 4 in the morning. Twice it was a lone plane and once it was two planes. I personally don't have any problems with it as I dive to 250 ft for an hour before coming back up and continue on my way.

I used ParaB's tweaked air strikes mod. Installed in mid patrol with no problems that I can see. Haven't seen any night patrols yet, just the normal daytime patrols. Prior to installing the mod I ran out of ammo in just one night. Good practice. Mid to late '43, Solomons, Truk, Guam, and now at Palau.

I have TM 1.7.6, ROW, RSRDC_P3_TM_v320 and NSM4 Classic with a few others installed.

For those who have modified the airstrike.cfg file, are you making the changes through wordpad, and then saving it. I found the airstrike.cfg file, but was just not sure if this was the best way to ammend it.

I also did a search for ParasB's mod mentioned earlier, using airstrike.cfg as my search term. I got a number of hits, but could not locate this mod to possibly use it here as well. Does anyone have the link for this mod. Thanks

never use wordpad it is not a clean text editor. It saves invisible text formatting sighns.

Always use notepad for editing something.

Hiya's,
If you do a lot of editing with notepad either in XP or Vista (x86 versions anyways) i saved a reg file that adds open with notepad to your right mouse click options

http://hosted.filefront.com/Defianceco/

Also i use a copyto and moveto reg add-on also saves time etc and also goes on right mouse click option (again it works in xp or vista x86 versions)

May help some of you as it certainly helps me

credits to whoever did it

Have fun
