I've seen this using zoom views in SH3 if I changed the view while the zoom was tilted and got it sorted out by waiting for an even keel before changing view. Never had this problem in SH4.

Something to try is next time you have a tilt lock, tap one of the cursor keys briefly and then tap the main keyboard minus(-) "view to heading" key which should snap the view to straight forward and level with the boat.
