Congrats, Hakahura, and go for it! You will keep on regretting it if you don't.

I wonder, is there a list available with al the big operations included in SH3 and GWX?

I know its in the GWXmanual, but is there a simple list with just the dates?

Well I went for it, and crashed my laptop 3 times before I gave up and copied my save games to my desktop. (I'm not a truely hardcore Kaleun I like my comforts, sofa tin of beer ect).

Here's where and when I am

I got into position, the BB was altering couse quite a bit but it's destination was clear. Incredibly stormy weather I did'nt dare select magnetics the Kanal was tossing even the largest boats around like toys. (Impact detonation against a BB ) As you can see from the map weather claimed many transports and landing craft.

Launched a spread of 4 electrics from about 4500meters and slowly started to turn away. The second I launched every escort in the armarda heard me and the hunter became the hunted.

The minuets ticked by and then

Three out of the four found their mark and that was enough!

This next guy got a bit close so I popped a T5 in his ass. Love them acoustics against escorts!

What next?

I'm currently heading back towards Cherborg silent, (have'nt reloaded any tubes yet) and the nearest DD is about 5km behind me now.

Shall I withdraw and go home letting discretion be the better part of valour?

Or should I reverse course and go in for another bite of the cherry?

I saw at least 2 Cassablanca class carriers in there and loads of cruisers.
Yes I know troop transports and landing craft should be my priority, but my way is more fun.
Plus I would love to see the beaches on June 7th/8th. Will the Mulberry's turn up?

As I said before I'm not that hardcore.... 68% realism, GWX 1.03 SH3 Commander + SH3 Gen.

God I love this War!

Plenty more torpedos left (Type IIVC). I've only loosed a total of 5.
4 from the front for the BB and the T5 from the stern for that DD.
Love watching those T5s tracking on the external cam!
I haven't reloaded at this point as I'm sneaking away silently.
Think I will have to head back in, I know a real commander would be more than happy with the BB but this is a game and I'm loving it.

Nice job on the attack...that will surely make them think twice about their plans.

If you haven't already, don't forget to radio a contact report back to HQ! It might be risky, but they'll want to know about this.

I went back in!

It took a while because I had to get some more distance between me and the escorts so I could make some noise and reload.

Lost sight of the Cassablanca I had my eye on, think I was wrong there anyway. Looks like that group were heading to Omaha. I ran in towards Utah beech at speed using the snorkel and the next Task Force started to come in from my starbord rear quarter. I think these ones are heading to Utah. Mainly a US group but look who I found giving fire support.

This just keeps on getting better and better.

Finally manovered into an intercept position. With the course changes this task force was making I ended up within 2500 meters of the Nelson (Way closer than I had planned). Once again I let loose with all 4 forward tubes.

Strange I heard 4 detonations all close together but only got 1 torpedo impact. Still ship sunk thats what counts.

2 TIIIs remaining up front 1 TV remaining astern. None loaded yet.

Looking forward to getting a few hours free later, getting those last internal torps loaded and letting them swim. The choice of targets is phenominal. Of course there's the odd DD or 2 to evade. How on earth I'm going to reload my external torps is beyond me! I may just have to take them home.

I'll be honest I don't play DiD but so far I've been lucky not a scratch. This can't continue surely? I will be posting a severly damaged/dead screenshot soon, can't believe I've got away with this. There again the Allies are somewhat focused on another task.

Just hope I get to see some Mullberries soon that would be cool. Anybody know if they are modelled?

Well now it's gone and happened to me.

After ages reading about other players woes of saving whilst submerged and surrounded by heavy traffic its happened to me. Why won't my saves load

Think I'm going to have to go quite a way back, possibly before my stalk on the Nelson. Doh. In fairness saving whilst surfaced was'nt really an option. Bu***r!

Well found a save that works and went after the Nelson again

Found him and put 4 from the front under the his keel. A risky shot with the huge swell due to the historically correct and appalling weather.

I also launched an acoustic from the stern at a Dido class Cruiser but the eel decided to lock onto a DD and chase that instead. Problem being the eel was running too deep for the DD to set it off. Must have been scary aboard that tin can!

As I sailed away silent at 20meters (as deep as possible) I saw this lonely sight. Looking almost like the conning tower of a sub poor Nelson sat on the bottom.

I think the shear volume of traffic and bad weather is what is stopping the DDs aquiring me sucessfully.

This is what it sounds like. My sonarmans ears must be sore.

My fearless (yet slightly insane) crew and boat.

Our 2 remaining internal torps.

Did you see those 2 Aux cruisers in the earlier screenshot?
Well we're having one of those! Stuff the external fish! Then back to base for a well earned night on the town.
If this doesn't get us a transfer to the 11th Flotilla and one of those new wunder boots nothing will.

So long as I can reload my game again Lol
