Count me in the crowd that has a paid copy and ghoulish crew members without eyeballs. But your sentiment, "Ubisoft doesn't care about SH4", is heartless. Of course they do, it makes $$ - ergo them distributing it in the first place. More accurate is "Ubisoft doesn't care about fans".

Yep sounds like the OP is using a no-cd. I'm not, I use only the original .exe and the original DVD in the drive, and the only thing he describes that I've even come close to seeing is a problem with the eyes.

Once in a while (very rarely actually) the crew in the command room will have totally featureless brown eyes, no iris, no pupil. Otherwise the crew look 100% 3-D normal. And they never repeat random numbers If I go back to the control room later during the same execution of the game, odds are the eyes are back to normal.

I imagine that's a driver issue?

I have had the brown eyes thing but i think only when the night filter is applied . Maybe the night filter overlay has something to do with it :hmm:

I think you are right

Even when their eyes are normal, they are STARING at me... If I go to the Shift-F2 view, no matter where I go they are looking at me always out of the corner of their eyes. Their heads are looking straight ahead at all times, but their eyes are following me no matter where I go!!!! Just like the "haunted paintings" you've probably heard about...

Makes me paranoid, I think they're planning not a mutiny, but a sacrifice of the only human on the boat - ME!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sober I thought exactly the same thing as you - seemed it was only happening at night. But one time (and one time only so far) it happened during the day. So I'm not so sure now. However, that one time was just right after sunrise. But the redlight in the command room was out. Dunno, but I can live with it!

No sh!t man. I was doing the free movement camera. I moved infront of one of the crew, his head was down. As soon as I got infront of him his head came up with those 'dawn of the dead' eyes and scared the crap out of me! It was just friggin scary because he looked up just as I got infront of him like he knew I was there. I do not do that anymore

Because then people using a cracked .exe will openly voice their problems with the game and we will know who they are

I, for one, think its brilliant

The only problem that bugs the hell olut of me right now is a random CTD, every two or three patrols, in the middle of the patrol - after I deploy to my mission target and I'm hunting for targets. After the CTD, when I try to restart the game, I get an ERROR 1000: PLEASE INSERT THE ORIGINAL DISC, NOT A BACKUP (?) from the securom protection. The thing is, it IS the original DVD. I have to wait for about 2 minutes until the memory clears and then restart the game - or reboot.

Neah, they are just trying to discourage piracy. However it doesn't really help since you can work around their protection systems, even without cracked EXEs. I've a habit of only using the CD/DVD for the original install and subsequent installs. I don't feel like overusing my optical drive because some people are unfair when it comes to software companies.

Guys... from the Subsim.com FAQ;

"SUBSIM Review has a longstanding policy against software piracy. We do NOT allow discussion or even mention of warez, abandonware, peer-to-peer game swapping, illegal download sites, or rip-off websites. "

Let's move along.
