how many bugs must SH$ have before you can call it a game?

I am very disappointed bacause after two pacth my SH4 have tons of bugs!!:damn::damn:
the crew sometimes is in 2d or they eyes floating around the face..sometimes they say number randomly...
Sometimes the map is a mixture of stripes..SOMETIMES GAME still crash
The sub sometimes dont go underwater even if there is no damage...
I like very much SH4 but ubisoft can not do such a buggy game. it is one of the most important softwere house..
I paid 50 euro here in Italy but maybe it would be better if i d......because you cant do this to the buyer( think about if starcraft 2 has so many bug, wont be so hungry after years of waiting)
I think that ubistoft would be better release an expansion for free if it would loose its client once for all.

What you're describing is a mixture of protection software conflicts and video driver errors. Uninstall the game completely and reinstall it. Then check your video card's website and download the latest drivers.

:rotfl:

This should go straight into the faq, under "What happens when you use a cracked .exe".

Including the garbled map, btw. I remember reading about the "problem" in another thread a while back and it was solved after the user went back to the original .exe.

In short, run the game off the dvd, not off a no-cd exe.

The problems you are having are your fault, not the game's.

I still get a kick out of this topic every time I see it. :p

i will try...

The only thing I don't understand btw is why the devs incorporated this protection scheme but decided to almost keep it a secret. I've only learned about it from reading this forum. I don't know if it's in the readme, since I've never read it. Imho they could have implemented a short warning prior to the intro stating that the game will run corrupted if a cracked .exe is used. You know, similar to what the devs of Operation Flashpoint did.
Otherwise you WILL get a good amount of unsatisfied customers running into those problems without realizing that it's a protection system, and when they don't read the readme (possibly) or any forums (and many don't) they might never learn about it. Makes for bad vibes.

It's a simple process. Load the DVD and click on the SH4 icon. Honors Degree in mathematics not required. :D

why (some of us) are we getting the "no eyes" copy protection crap (for very few minutes and only from time to time) even with the original disc?

nomad_delta 06-09-07 12:18 PM

I get the "no eyes" in my crew thing, too, and I'm definitely just using the DVD I purchased. Grrr.

I think the "no eyes" bug is an actual graphics bug and totally unrelated to - and I quote -

I also have the no eyes problem more often than not, but never had any of those GIANT eyes popping outa their sockets, which *is* the copy protection as I understand.

What do you mean load the CD? I put it in the DVD drive and glued the door shut. ;)

Mr.Elendig 06-09-07 02:17 PM

I did have some 2d crew members etc on my amazone edition, withiut running a no-cd or any other crack, but the problems dissapered when I reinstalled to clean out the mods I had installed before I did the 1.2 patch
