Your better off utilising stock guns if you can mate
Otherwise you will have to make allowances for gun.dats that dont include any new ones
You could end up making half a dozen dats for different mods

After alot of research, conversations, and communications, I've found a couple of documents.






I can create new, stand alone dats for shells and guns so they would work with all major mods and Stock SH3 and not affect current guns and shells dat files.
What does everyone think? Would a .50 cal and .30 cal be useful?
I hate to put 20mm guns on a ship that did not use them.

They would be usefull in twin mounts and single for pts
and smaller patrol types but the guns would need some
sort of mount for ships that probably might be more work
im not sure.????????????????

I've already got the .50 and .30 modeled.
Mounts could be a re-work of an existing mount? :hmm:

Just seems to me that USA units should have the .50s!
(GOD I LOVED that weapon while in the service!)

European, 20mm
USA, .50s

Also, the B-25 gunships (and others?) had a BOATLOAD of .50s didn't they?

if so both would have to go on the twenty mm mount i think
the 37 is an artillery piece really.

[edit] actually yes the single and twin twenty mm A0 type
mounts are the right ones. but the visual model question
naturally follows now.

Ceateing a new additional gun.dat, they would get new obj files.
Therefore, it would not matter what the original gun.dat file modeled.
This new gun dat IS NOT A CLONE!!!!
It is scratch built. Hand edited and modeled.
You can attach them to where you want same as originals, just new references.
So, as I'm working on this anyway, I'll go 2 days.
Any requests that can be added to new guns and shells,
post them now!
Again, this is a stand alone!
Should not interfer with any other gun or shell dat files!
