It was great to watch it uncut the first time around, but now it's too much for me to handle in a single sitting.

I own both the Director's Cut and the Uncut versions, and I'd recommend the Uncut version. The sound quality isn't quite as good, but what's added in terms of dialog and character development more than makes up for it.
