First - my highest compliments to ya'll. This looks amazing and will add much enjoyment and immersion to the simulation. I do fear that many may come to harm just staring at the beauty of the surroundings as foes attack.

Now, I was wondering if there is any way to choose not to have the "free camera" option inside the submarine? I actually prefer the standard view and find that with the other I am snuggled up a bit too close to my crew. Besides, once the ROW team adds the sense of smell into the sim, where will I be?

Thoughts?

I've rammed my sub against land and/or other ships because I was staring at the scenery, so you're right about that! :rotfl:
As for the option to not have the free camera...if you don't want a free-roaming camera outside the sub as well, then you simply remove the camera.dat file from the mod's Data\Library folder before activating it.

Latest report for Kriller and all who are anticipating.

A couple of storm shots.

The third shot is of something I haven't seen in a while . . . the effects of a sunken vessel without me having sunk anything. It appeared right after I started a saved game.

Thank you for the report Letterboy.

Yes I have allso experienced the above glitch after I loaded a save game with a sound like someone has launched a torpedo Strange, I think it's something in the effects mod doing this. Can you try disable the effect mod and see if it happens when you load the game?

Hm...I think it's the same issue that's been reported by users of NSM4. Since I used that mod's zones.cfg file as a template, it's very possible it's been carried over to the PE2 Special Effects.

Okay, I'll disable the effects as soon as I can and try it. By the way, I'm using the stock zone version of special effects. It might be tomorrow until I can report back, though.

Doesn't matter, all versions have been worked on using WernerSobe's and an older version of ROW Special Effects zones.cfg as a template. Both include some effects pertaining to subs. I'll have to check them against a vanilla zones.cfg and see what gives. And, unless someone can provide me with that file in the next 20 minutes, I'll report back tomorrow as well.

Have you guys noticed an improvement in performance, since you have changed the fog effects from the smokey look to the new look? Fog is the only real killer of my graphics cards in this mod - 17 - 20 fps. Otherwise, I'm between 30 and 40 fps on the bridge. I hate having to turn off volumetric fog, but I will if I have to.

Yes, that's what I get too. But there's definitely an improvement over older versions, frame rate wise.

Default Bug Report

Didn't know if you had been told or not, didn't show up when I searched for Uboat in this thread so. . .

Playing SH4 1.5 (with Uboat Addon) if you start a German Campaign and from the command deck (where you start all your missions) you click to go to the 'aft view' you get a solid neon green screen instead of the normal view.

Also, when you click to go to the Sonar Room you get a black screen with only the 'bearing' visible, although you can still interact.

I tested to see if these bugs were still there with just the stock install with PE2, less floaters, and ROW Sound v9.

*edit* Removing the less floaters and sound mod had no effect, its definetly in PE2.

Any ideas?

I've been getting some strange out of camera zone erros when I try to go into the CT and even sometimes in the con. When I click on the sonar, I can see it, but I can't control the bearing. I wasn't sure if it was PE2 or maybe the older 360 bearing plotter mod that I installed after it. Other mods that I have are benign, like US navy hat, black smoke, improved medals, etc.
