I found a solution to the radar-warning-receiver problem, using S3D.

This is for Tomi_099, Flakmonkey, Stiebler, Dietrich, Mikhayl and all the poeple who developed this sub.

First you should make a backup of the file NSS_Uboat21.DAT. (Just in case)

Open the file NSS_Uboat21.DAT using S3D. (Flakmonkey and tomi's type XXXII)

Open the following "folders" in the left side
21:Node- NSS_Uboat21
I
I__ 30:Node- NSS_Uboat21_EXT.TURM
I
I__72:Node-NSS_Uboat21_INT.TURM
I
I__216:Node-NSS_Uboat21_SCHNORCHEL
I
I__222:Node- CFG#R02_NSS_Uboat21_SCHNORCHEL for this node in the right side of the screen you should change the following values:

Offset X: -0,01 Y: -0,00953913853 Z: -0,14

Save changes before closing S3D.

Now if you have the RWR activated you will see it at the top of the schnorchel.
I hope this can help you.
Regards.

P.S. Sorry for my English.

Great work, 'Empty B'.

Your idea works perfectly.

I've tested it, the revised DAT file gives good radar detection of aircraft, the aerial position on the schnorchel is exactly correct.

The aerial pokes out above the recess when schnorchel is retracted. Therefore, the aerial might be effective when the U-boat is on the surface with schnorchel retracted, but radar-warning-receiver (rwr) range is only 5 km, and in practice the crew always sees aircraft first (therefore no rwr warning given).

I completed a full patrol with the new XXIII, saving and reloading after attack on the UK coast. Reloaded a saved game without problems.

I've placed a new version of the FuMB37XXIIINYGM.7z mod on FileFront, see my signature below. This includes the new NSS_SubmarineXXI.dat file modified as described by 'Empty B', together with revised credits. The credits now acknowledge FlakMonkey and Empty-B.

Thanks again for your work, Empty-B.

Stiebler.

Stiebler
It was my pleasure.

By the way, do you know what was the maximun number of days they could be on patrol? I think the provisions (food, etc) was the limit. But I'm not sure.

Wolfehunter
Thanks for the wellcome.

Regards.

@Empty-B:

The real XXIII boat was expected to spend all its time submerged, so fuel consumption was very low. The diesel engines were used mostly to recharge the batteries.

Therefore the limiting factor for a patrol was food.

Provisions were carried for about 14-16 days, but these could be rationed (that is, the crew ate less than they should).

The longest patrol was by U 2324 in April 1945. The patrol lasted 36 days (because the crew could not find any targets in thick fog off the Scottish coast), and the food was exhausted completely after 35 days.

Would you happen to know where we can get Tomi's playable XXIII (if it exists yet)? I checked his FF page & can't find it.

Thanks...

This is a BETA-TEST version, because I cannot spend any more time on this for a week or so (real life needs). I have tested all issues outstanding, and it runs well for me.
Be sure to read the documentation (PDF) attached!

**You MUST first load NYGM 2.5 Full Version, and the patch NYGM 2.6B, also available at the same link.**

Stiebler.
Here is your answer dudes.

If your a modder yes if not no. Takes some skill to get it working for GWX 2.1

The playable XXIII is for SH4 and NYGM mod.

AI one I have is compatible with GWX old one. May work with GWX 2.1? Don't know didn't try it.
