Mar 2, -43. U-24, IId, 30th/33rd Flot docked in Constanza after her 5th patrol.
One Russian Hurricane downed, U-24 got the new conning tower and sports two flakzwillings now, two other Hurries crashed into the see. Russian pilots, bah
On Feb 23rd, 2300 hours, U-24 sailed decks awash straight into a convoy on collision course. Sank a troop transport, 7000+ t. Got away with some 54% hi.
On the 26th, 0400 hours U-24 attacked an liner in another convoy, but this time all three torps missed. The escorts picked us up on sonar and the convoy started zigzagging just before impact The Dd´s dropped so many cans on us I thought the boat would roll, held on to my desk The boat will need some repairs and the crew some rest before going after the Russians again

U-45 joins my little fleet and she had a great third patrol Dec39 sinking four large cargo ships and two medium cargo along with one passenger/cargo.

U-47 is on shore leave.

Grand reports, chaps! With commanders like you, we're winning the war. Big celebration in the works

U5, Type II AN56
I am determined to get this manural torpedo stuff right if it kills me...which it might Anyway...in mid patrol, weather and visability is bad, 400 mtr visability. So far got one tramp steamer after 2 misses and one hit. One more ship and then back to Kiel for a beer.

U-33 out of Kiel in late 1940. Kicking cargo butt and taking names.

Not wanting to spend $200 or so for the game and to upgrade for SH4, safe to say I'll be around the Atlantic for awhile. Until I get sunk/the war ends, that is.

25 December 1941, 1530 hrs,
U-123 departed Lorient for patrol area off Casablanca. Even with hangovers, we know the war has taken a nasty turn with the American entry into the war. But that means more targets to sink

When we said you needed a shower, we didn't mean bombs.

November 22, 1940.
U-33 back in Lorient.

Went for patrolgrid CG87 on Nov 7, gunned down 4 ships on the way.
Had an intercept Nov 12 with what RA called "Warship", but what turned out to be a british taskforce

Came as close as 4400m to HMS Rodney

Emptied all four tubes, all missed, but one took out a small Tribal on the far side of the TF. Sigh. Went north.

2000 km later and nothing! In BE31 got a report of large, slow convoy. Intercepted 12 hours later well ahead of it. Saw no other warships than an old Southhampton and a Flower Class. Targeted 4 large cargo - and all hell broke loose. At least 5 destroyers came racing down and we were forced deeper than we've been before. And now SO reports long distance contacts moving very fast and closing from NW and SE... SE report was a task force... Swordfish now everywhere... Spend 3 hours evading hundreds of DC's... Shaked and stirred, but undamaged. Close to disaster as one of the cargos going down almost sucked us with it

6 cargos and that lousy Tribal, 36770 ton.

1 year and 1 month after U-33's first warpatrol, we have now been 201 days at sea and are going for a 3 months leave. Boat and crew are fine, but exhausted.

Bleah!
After a 4 day sunny transit to the Gib approaches, moved to intercept convoy. Rain started pelting as i crept into position. Saw nothing, wasted 3 torpedoes. Should have stayed at the party

Jan29´th -41. U-46, VIIb, 7´th Flot.
Docked at Bessel in Vigo. 75% diesel left but only two torps, in the aft tube and one reserve. 2 weeks into the 11´th patrol, second out of St:Nazaire, and already out of torpedos, have fired two at every target to make sure they would go down.
The weather has been to rough to use the deck gun.

We will drink tonight , sleep till noon tomorrow, and then go hunting again
