Aye, patience is wearing thin.

Still rather have them do it right than do it fast though.

Oh, it's alright.

It's just that they rushed the game, something we could have waited a bit longer for. But now it's here and needs a patch, but that gets delayed... little contradictory.

Meanwhile their "star" title SC Conviction kept getting pushed back... just would be nice if they didn't treat SH as some bastard child, trying shove it into the background so they can focus on more "promising" (ie profitable) ventures.

Yes that would be hillarous !

Sorry guys it's all my fault ...
I was just joking about a patch delay monday morning and here we are...

I just better have shut the f..... up.

You think that list is long, you should see the list of Mods I've got . There is alot of very cool stuff done by the Community out there. Some of those Mods are compulsary, even with Patch 1.2

And i say it again..

Unpaid modders doing this stuff as a hobby on their spare time = 100's of essential enhancements to the game since release.

Paid developers doing it 6 or 8 hrs a day as their job (to pay for that shiny new Porche) = around 15 bugfixes, minor and a few major since release.

If i was president of the world, they'd all be fired and every single modder would be hired instead.
And its the same with the Total War games / mod community.
And before you think that the number of modders are greater than the number of developers because of how many ppl buy the game, think again. I can count the most crucial mods authors on this forum on my fingers, not even having to use my toes

Less ppl on their free time accomplish more than a huge paid development team. Why did we pay them?

You are new here so you probably aren't aware that the developers are friends of a lot of ours and we don't appreciate people insulting them.

If you want to see how little they accomplished try downloading every mod you can find without the game installed and see how far you get.

All this story remind me of the release of Grand Theft Auto 4 on PC.
Several peoples complained about bugs and the game being unplayable, whereas I was actually enjoying and playing it without ANY problems.
And so I am again with SH5...

Maybe I am lucky, who knows ...

You are partially right when you say that everyone is allowed to express their opinion. Where you are wrong is in how you express your opinion. If you want to express an opinion here you do it in a respectful manner... respectful to the other posters, the developers and to Neal. No one is asking you to kiss anyone's ass but you have to remember that this is Neal's forum and his rules apply. If you want to know what thos rules are I suggest you spend a little time with the FAQ at the top of this page.

If you can't live with that then perhaps this is not the place for you.

You are not alone. I'm loving the game and haven't even installed a single mod.

There are a few issues with it( I can't walk inside the sub without my fans racing into overdrive, there are ghosts stuck to the side of my boat, etc ) but overall I still think it's playable. I have had only one hiccup with the DRM( I did not buy this game, it was a gift, I was holding out for a DRM free version ) and it only lasted for a few seconds. The graphics really make a huge difference, IMHO, and make the bugs tolerable.

I can understand the opposing point of view that the game should of have been perfect out of the box, but the reality is, those days of gaming are gone. I say that gaming is now a business that only shoots for center of the road as far as player expectations go, and spend most of their resources on graphics. I would even go so far as to argue that the modding community had something to do with this. The main example that I can relate this argument to is the automobile aftermarket business. This industry brings in $257 billion yearly ( Estimated *1 ), and the logic behind that and other accessory businesses(computer,RC models, etc) is longer product viability, thus future sales on existing work.

It sucks that so many loyal silent hunter fans feel let down by Ubisoft this go around, but I guarantee that in a years time, this game will become more and more appealing to a large majority of the silent hunter fanbase because of both Ubisofts participation, and the modding community.

Since the advent of the net, no game is perfect out of the box, some just come closer, I still think SH5 is on the way to being a gamn good dame given the modders once he initial bugs are fixed, mine plays fine on a single core but with the graphical explosion issues, that Ubisoft is even willing to address this issue for single core users when they certainly don't have to given the duo core min requirements is really to their credit, that other people have issues when they far exceed minimum specs is troubling, but still others play the game just fine, its the pitfall of designing a system to run with a gazillion different types of rigs/cpu/ram/driver/vcard/sound cards out there, and also given the also people who may be not so computer literate who don't know how even to update drivers, I'm sure there are more than a few who have issues and they could easily sort them out if they had some rudimentary knowledge. I've *itched about games before, I just realize now ONE its just a game, LIFE is more important, and EVENTUALLY the do get around to sorting out MOST the issues, and in the end, EVERYONE moves on to a new game, and all the time and effort spent on complaining about "this" or "that" game is kind of just wasted energy. Like everything in life, one must keep things in perspective.
