The hell with new weapons until they can balance the races first. Predator needs energy cost for the disc (it is using energy as it interacts with the targeting computer) and slower light attack. Alien needs faster light attack (as it cant now rely on speed as it was in AvP2) and for cryin' out loud make the block actually block the Pred's light attack.
![]() As it is, the Predator is ruling the field in both melee and ranged, which is poo-poo. Make the Alien the melee race, Marine the ranged race and Predator something in-between the two. |

the Marines win in that compartment, the only problem is seeying the predator as he is cloaked...but if he is stupid enough to giveaway his position he's screwed if you have capable marines around especially armed with that sniper rifle. the only usefull ranged weapon as a predator is the spear...it's slow but it doesn't give your position away if you aim for someone. Melee? well to stand and fight it wins, but a alien is too quik if you fail to take him by suprise and manage to lay one hit..get out..and make a another attack..ow and Teamwork is always good...the alien nor the marine can really stand on their own. Here's how the XP thingy works.
Kill marine - 2 Kill alien - 2 Kill predator - 2 Inflict 100 points of damage - 2 Counter melee attack - 1 Capture control point - 2 Defend/attack CP - 1 Assist in kill - 1 Trophy kill marine - 3 TK alien - 3 TK predator - 5 Melee kill as marine - 6 5 kills or more without dying - 5 Kill persecutor - 4 Win a round of infestation - 5 Last man standing bonus of infestation - 10 |

so far most of the time in the Race DM I got help from a guy, as a marine we sticked together and as a Alien 1 distracted by pouncing him while the other went to nom nom nom his brains. I dont think the races should be balanced out first, its obvious that the netcode is a mayor issue in how a melee fight goes. like I kill someone by just slashing him and shortly afterwards I die claimed as a headbite? how can that be if I killed the alien before he headbit me? Online saves my ass! First game after re-installed windows today and bang, saves erased, audio clips erased and online rank back to 1.

There's been the 'Cross Test Server' up and running for quite a few days already. You can see it with the Steam server browser, now there's two it seems.
Anywho, closed beta would mean that they were WAY late with they dedicated servers, if I'd have to bet, they only started to develope them at around when the demo came and people started to cry about the matchmaking. What makes developers make these idiotic decisions, that I dont know. ![]() |

Dedicated servers just aren't part of Steamworks, so they need to add it in separately. Guess all the time went to completing the game as it is now, and porting it to PC.
Good news is that they're at least doing it, plenty of others have decided to ditch it altogether. ![]() * just hope I don't have to go begging for a code or something, I'm sick of the matchmaking.

the Match making in general aint bad, its just that you don't know who's hosting it...I had a guy most likely hosting on his Dial up..the pings went from 800 to 1200 for all players
![]() It's also annoying that it sometimes takes ages, making you think you're the only idiot searching for the game at that particular moment. I just quit the games I get unplayable pings with 200 - 300 is my limit I'm willing to play on. I hope ranked get dedicated too, a small loby that at least gives you the ping rating of the game. (or at least a small lobby for the ping) HunterICX
