Reminds me of the interesting [to me] difference between the U.K. and U.S. meaning of a certain word - which I'm not entirely sure is not too vulgar [in the U.K.] to post here:
In the U.S. it refers to a person's backside. Apparently in the U.K. it refers to a woman's ... "frontside". I wonder how it got two meanings which are so far apart, and yet so close together. ![]()

Reportedly, it was marked on the steamship ticket in large letters. It was important in those days to avoid tanning in the sun-very not Pukka Sahib!.
