I spotted my first icebergs East of St: John´s, in the middle of BC sector. Two small ones, in the middle of the night and bad weather.
I had the idea to go to NY, Feb -41, but an Canadian Catalina bombed that idea out of my head. U-103 is limping back to Lorient with no scopes and low on diesel. Lost five crew members and my WO is still cared for by my medic. If we go no more than 8 knots we have a chance to make it back, still in BD sector
