It is good work. Steady. Show up when scheduled, ready to go to work, on time, and do your job. That is pretty much all you have to do. Once you can get more than 6 years in, you are pretty much guaranteed against layoffs, unless you are management. You may have to move (they are closing/consolidating some facilities) but at least you keep the job - unlike some other corporations who have announced big layoffs recently...

Well,
My orientation day went really good. I was given a phone number for someone in the district hr regarding reinstatement and will be calling them tomorrow. My shift is 'Tour 1' and from 11pm-8am. Glad to be back in government employment again as out of 12 casuals hired, I'm one of 4 who aren't "christmas only" casuals and will come back after christmas. ![]() ![]() |
