There is a fuel economy mod that sets the 'ahead one third' speed to the most economic fuel setting.
There is less need for this with the increased range given in GWX 2.1 but I still find it handy to use when I get really low on fuel. More info is at: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...t=fuel+economy

When I adjusted the fuel supply for the U-boats in GWX, I noticed some things about range estimations using the navigation officer in game:
If you come out of high time-compression and immediately ask your nav officer for an estimation, it will be inaccurate initially. (This can be demonstrated by repeatedly asking range estimations in rapid succession.) Unless you wait a few full minutes for the game engine to settle, you will receive an inaccurate measurement. Remember, the game engine calculates all physics, course, and speed, for THOUSANDS of objects travelling across the map in SH3 simultaneously. Last edited by Kpt. Lehmann; 11-09-08 at 11:27 AM. |
