Your posts, sir, don't warrant a response.

Furthermore, I'm thoroughly disappointed with what I saw unfold on the forums tonight. A lot of members here have acted immaturely, ungraciously and sometimes in a downright disturbingly bigoted fashion. It says a lot when I'm not nearly an Obama supporter and am in fact suspicious of him.

This is one of those few times I would rather be absent from this forum, the other being the conflict in Georgia earlier this year - except fortunately, I was involuntarily absent from the forums for several weeks during and after it.

I'm afraid I'll have to remove myself for a similar period to let those people with whom I became disappointed come back to their senses, get desensitized to this issue, and become reasonable, interesting people again.

Seriously, those of you who've lashed out tonight - look in the mirror and see if you could really see yourself act like that in front of people in real life. Come on, I know you're better than that. And I know you're better than that too.

See you in a bit, everyone. (And I'll remember to throw in a Subsim donation while I'm away).

This is exactly how people have been acting for eight years with Bush, from day 1.

Fine, I'll stop trying to make a mountain out of a molehill, but not to say my points on this don't stand. GT is really at its worst when it becomes a big bullfight. I needn't run off the community, but I think I'll take it easy on this section of it and go do some game-related things here for once!

Also, Neal: see, that's EXACTLY what I mean. Using the "but the dems did it first" excuse to act like that. That's exactly what I was saying - sure, I'll be the first to enthusiastically agree that a lot of leftists are a real bunch of whiners and snap uncontrollably when provoked. But is that really an excuse to act just as bad? That's very immature and, in my eyes, even worse than just acting like that due to being upset.

In the end, I think the problem is that I hate sore losers. That's why tonight I far preferred McCain's speech and was really annoyed at the boo-ers in the crowd. He was really gracious and if nothing else, he took defeat with honour and broke out not into partisan cliches but into a real unifying rhetoric, which is what I value most when it comes to places as polarized politically as the US. Now I wish his followers took the hint, seriously.

In any case, I do want a couple days' break. All this has given me a headache.

Sorry, man, but a lot of the jackass-ness of the last 8 years of Bush bashing has rubbed off on me.

Sorry brother, but from your posts, you do not live here, and cannot vote here. So maybe you should not take it personally when folks rip on you. Needless to say, if skybird were to tell me we should/should not vote for BHO, I take it with a grain of salt. Cool your jets and pray for sanity....

Hope springs eternal.

Espically when the rated 'most liberal senator' in congress has been elected.

I wouldent worry so much except for the fact that he will be backed by a democrat majority congress along with the limp spined republicans that will be afraid to stand on their principals.

There will no longer be a check and balance. Socialisim is comming and it will be very hard to stop.

Given that Obama by all european standarts would be considered "extreme right", I doubt you'll see much socialism worthy of that term.

I don't know about you guys but I am one "Bitter Clinger"

You know 92% of African Americans voted for Obama and 8% for McCain. I think if we "crackers" did that we would be called raci$t pigs. But I guess its ok for them to do it.
