Let's say it was the VIIB you wanted to mod...

Go to the folder for the VIIB, located in the Submarines folder at :
Code:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat7b
Now open up the 'NSS_Uboat7b.CFG' file with Notepad and look for this section :

PeriscopeDepth=13;meters 12.5
SnorkelDepth=13;meters 12.5
CrashDepth=70;meters
MaxDepth=220;meters
SurfaceDepth=8;meters
TorpLaunchMaxDepth=20;meters
StormConditions=11,0.4;max wind speed [m/s], max rain intensity [0,1]
The last line sets what is considered to be seas and winds too high for using the flak and deck guns.
