It would appear I mistook your comment. My aplogies. I felt that searching is not a problem in this case since it took me 2 seconds to find the appropriate thread all 4 times I've had to go and find it. I have spent quite a bit of time searching through the forums looking for topics on my question at hand, and I wouldn't expect anyone else to do so for me.
The mistake was most likely mine. I would humbly suggest however, that stating that you found nothing in your search might be more effective than using language that suggests you can't be bothered to try it. |

If my post indicated that I can't be "bothered to try it" then that is certainly poor communication on my part...nothing could be further from the truth. I always search first as that is usually the fastest way to the answer...no waiting for replies. As I stated, like you, I never expect anyone to find my information for me...I only ask in the hope that someone has the info handy rather than face a daunting search result of 13 pages of threads...each with pages of replies? So, I think we understand each other better now? That is my hope, anyway. |

Certainly. I typed in exactly this search string, minues the quotes: 'nVidia AND SH3 AND Settings AND Best'
If you then press CTRL+F and type nVidia, you will only need to press enter three times before finding the correct thread. Checking for stickies in the search results is also a pretty quick way to find the right thread. The key to good searches is using boolean modifiers and picking good search terms. Hope those tricks are as useful to you as I've found them to be for me. |

Thanks Gizmo...It's Bedtime for Bonzo here but will try your search tomorrow. Believe me...anything that makes finding needed info easier is welcome by me.

Prowler3, copy and paste the text below into notepad for nHancer tweaks for SH3.
I was given this advice, probably on this forum, and it did the trick for me. I do not run SH3 Commander, so cannot comment on that bit. The only bit that the settings below did not fix is that the night sky looks like someone has daubed paint on canvas. If you find the solution to that, I would be pleased to know. ![]() To finish - nHancer best settings for good image quality without any noticeable problem in SH3/4: -in the main page at your right check Global, then in - Enhancements page: check MultiSampling 4x check Super- Transparency AA check AF 16x or 8x check Vertical Sync Applicaion, - Optimizations page: check Texture filtering High Quality check Tril. opt. Off check Aniso sample opt. Off check Neg LOd Bias Clamp leave all the others settings unchanged - Compatibility page: choose AA Compatibility 20000000: EA Strategy Games (this is what makes a huge difference in image quality, forcing the AA to be applyed to the entire scene. This is probably also the best solution for Flight sims) leave all the others settings unchanged. Then just close nHancer and you are ready to go (no "Ok" or "Apply" button on nHancer). Last comments: -nHancer have a very good manual on line http://www.nhancer.com/?dat=d_start which will teach you also on how to make profiles for each game. It´s very simple and powerful! -But be warned that the last Nvidia drivers don´t allow to use profiles automatically. Anyhow nHancer provides the possibility to activate profiles manually what is also very useful and enough if you don´t want to adjust the global settings for each game each time that you play them. I hope that the next forceware driver will fix this annoying limitation. -If you have any comment or any other tip to enhance the SH3/4 experience when using nVidia hardware please share it with us! |
