Default Missing conning tower reflections

Hi all,

Is there any fix for this? I have seen this with Type IIA, I haven't yet checked if other ships are missing conning tower reflections too but VIIB and VIIC doesn't have this problem. I have used Type IID too but that was then when those reflections didn't even work. Somehow they started to work. Anyways where could I find a fix for those missing reflections? And are there any sound fixes? I experience sound bugs sometimes in the game. Today when I was after a merchant in SH III and decided to submerge my sub at perisope depth while looking at that merchant vessel away from my sub, moment later I went back looking at my submerged sub and I could hear water still moving on the surface like my sub never did submerge. Wtf? But that wasn't the wierdest thing, I once saw me crew still on the friggin' bridge while the sub was submerged!:rotfl:

And by the way are there any rusted red hull skins for VIIB and VIIC?

The sound issues you describe sound (I'm not trying to be funny btw) like stock bugs that were never fixed. In rough weather (11m + wind speeds) large waves will wash over & submerge your watch crew. As far as I know, there is no fix for that. U-boat bunkers aren't water-proof either: rain will pour through the ceiling.

I would suggest that you download the GWX 2.1 mod available at http:///thegreywolves.com/. It's a big download but well worth the time & effort. GWX fixes many of the stock game's issues & and adds a lot of new material.

Oh well, I guess I should get that GWX then. I hope I can turn off those mods in that mod package what would decrease my computers performance. I have an old computer.

Okay, downloading it from here.

ARGH! That is a update not package itself! I downloaded a wrong thing, I'm gonna try my luck with that torrent.

Nay, torrent seems to be having that same GWX2.1.exe in it. Ok, I'm confused now.

You need to install GWX 2.0 THEN GWX 2.1 on a clean SH3 1.4b

Yeah, found it out yesterday. I've got problems with my computer wireless thing and also some other problems which all are probably going to get fixed today. So that means I'm gonna download GWX 2.0 tommorrow.

I hope GWX also improves exiting the game while at sea or underwater without having to go throught your office.. It's annoying and I found out that "Save and Exit" thing corrupts savegames somehow and makes your watchmen to be on bridge while the sub is submerged. In other words stock game's saving and loading sucks so hard and every time I load the game I have to set those torpedos to F (fast speed) again. So long words short: Does GWX improve saving and loading and fixes this "savegames getting corrupt"?

Don't save while submerged or within 50km of land or objects (aircraft or vessels). Doing so will probably result in a CTD (crash to desktop). There's no solution that I'm aware of to fix this problem. Avoid saving during foul weather (rain & fog) too because SH III's weather is reset to the start of a weather cycle when a saved game is reloaded & you'll probably get an extended period of rotten weather. No fix for this either (that I know of).

SH III won't remember your torpedo fuse & speed settings so you'll have to reset them when loading a saved game. For other "Do's & Don't's" see the Tips & Tricks stickied thread in the main SH III forum here.

Installing GWX will result in longer load times. This is because it adds a lot more objects into your pc's memory. From what I've seen most people report load times of 5-7 minutes but it depends on your system specs. If you go to http://thegreywolves.com/Links.htm there is a downloadable GWX 2.1 manual that will answer far more questions about the mod than I can in this reply.

Hope this helps....

I never have had a CTD in SH 3.:rotfl: Instead of CTD it just corrupts the savegame(s) or it deletes all of them, from that I have learned that game doesn't like saving the game while your sub is underwater. Never had problems whit saving the game near land. Anyways, I didn't had much luck with GWX. Loading times and lagging hard at the harbor.. and I didn't like camera's Field of View increased. I'm gonna stay with the stock SH 3 with some mods. I just need a couple of mods not entire gang raping my poor non-killer machine.:rotfl:

By the way I found out about UboatReflections v2.0 which adds the reflections to conning towers but I can't find any working download links for this mod. And I would like to get a mod which removes that "milk on water" thing but I can't find any working download links for that either.

Oh, and thanks for telling me about saving in bad weather thing. I was wondering why that weather lasted too long.
