I'm asking because I installed ver. 3.1 while at sea in an ongoing career, and the result was a totally black sky. I uninstalled it and the graphics were back to normal. BTW, I should mention that I had exactly the same experience with the 16 km distance mod.
I would suggest enabling it before you go out on patrol; I'm not sure if it can be enabled safely mid-career. Same deal for a lot of other mods; enabling or disabling them while at sea can really frig things up (black skies, ctds, etc.).

This game can be enabled in my patrol IF you enable it on top of the latest version of OLCE2.

This mod really shouldn't be enabled if you don't have OLCE2.

This mod is 16km version, just as OLCE2.

This mod is in fact a TWEAK FOR OLCE2.

Default 3.1 is even better

I would agree with the others, I have been following the rule that you should only install mods, any mods, when back at base after a patrol.

Regarding this water mod, it really adds alot to the game, the 3.1 version did fix the blueness of the water to be more realistic, so much so that it is taking everything I have to leave Lorient at midnight, I'm having to navigate out via the light houses and buoys.

My wife will be gone for the weekend, and am looking forward to some involved and extended time with the game.

This mod adds so much to the game, but causes some problems too. Now my sky looks fabricated and the ships look like collections of pollygons. I think you just raised the bar TP!

While in port between missions in an existing career, I installed OLCE2 (plus OLCE2 Adjusted...Crew Skins, OLCE2 Adjusted...Enhanced Damage Effects, OLCE2 Fixed...Ship Reflections) and then Thomsen's 3.0 Water. I also uninstalled the GWX mods that the OLC Ubermod readme file said must not be used.

When I resumed the career, I got a CTD. I removed the new mods, reinstalled the original GWX mods, and all was well. I'm thinking that it may be best to install these mods and then start a new career.

BTW, all of the images I've seen showing off these mods are external camera views. I don't use the external camera. Are there any images of the view from the bridge when using them?

There are none, but I assure you that the water looks all the same!
