Default Texture Repacker

I have a prog for unpacking texture files, but am in need of one to repack them...anyone know of such an animal?
Perhaps like chess set except for textures?

This site here... http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/graphix.htm

Martin Wright's site is intended for CFS modders but his page for graphics tools has a great many useful utilities for textures.

Hope this helps!

You know Graf that's kinda funny you referred me to MW. He and I used to colaborate way back in the day of CFS...
He is kinda responsible for getting me starting in modding. I do have his TGA tools which is the coverter from tex file into bmp or tga although I need something to covert them back into a tex file. I did leave him an email and hopefully he will respond...
any more ideas would be appreciated...

KD

I'll do some digging. You'd be amazed how large my bookmarks file has gotten over the last 10 years.

I just wish that there had been somebody around to mentor me into modding like MW did with you.

Some people just need to be pointed in the right direction to find a direction to get started.

Ah, well. At least I can help in small ways around here.

[EDIT]

Did you take a look at ImageMagick? It's the swiss-army knife of graphics conversion and whatnot. Site link... http://www.imagemagick.org

Are you just trying to pack a texture into a .dat file? If so, I thought S3D allows you to import textures into the model .dat.

[EDIT]
I forget...this is for packing .tga files, right? I know I stumbled across some DDS stuff, but wasn't sure if that's what you needed.

[EDIT...again]

For .tga files I found this in my bookmarks.... http://www.mslaf.com/projects/textur...ies/index.html

Don't know if this is what you meant.

[EDIT...redux]

Since Targa files are just 24/32-bit RGBA files, why not use the nVidia DXT tools and plugin for Photoshop or the standalone DXT texture ( dxtex.exe ) tool that came with the DirectX SDK?

And don't forget ATI's standalone texture compression tool called, The Compressonator, of course!... http://ati.amd.com/developer/compressonator.html
