But who said they couldn't surprise us again with new stuff to SH3?

Besides, messing up with SH4 may have given them a lot of new ideas for SH3.

No, I mean the other meaning of "messing", not from "ruining it", but more like "working with" or "looking into".

Like what I say when someone ask "will you fix this?" and I say "yeah, I'm messing up with scene.dat to try finding the solution".

I don't know it there's a better expression for that. Here in Brazil we speak something like that, and I translated the pure meaning of the word, so it might sound wrong. What would be the right expression?

the expression you want is just

"messing with" or "messing around with". "messing up" usually means "damaging"
