First GWX Aircraft destroyed

I also made my first GWX aircraft kills last night. Usually I dive, but I was pretty much forced to stay on the surface; I'd had my electric engines destroyed after a terrible ordeal with Tribals and an Evarts. I shot down two Avengers as they came at my crippled ship, but I lost a seaman killed

Limped into Lorient at 8% HI.

Not to derail, but do people do a lot of course changes while avoiding aircraft? I tend to just dive, maybe do a quick turn, but then right back onto course within a few minutes. Can they track you this way?

I usually just go to periscope depth, seems to work as long as they don't have surface ships helping them out. If I'm spotted, I will do a coupe radical course changes, but that's really it.
