SoundMAX Problem in SHIII - Help!

Hi, I just updated my old system & the new Motherboard (Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe) has onboard SoundMAX sound and breaks down in SHIII, some of the sounds such as the crowd clapping & cheering is so quiet you can only just make them out, however the seagulls are really loud!!

Also the sound jutters & snaps if you zoom around in external view holding the shift key down, same effect whilst using TC.

I tried setting the sound hardware acceleration down to zero and although this stops the stuttering half the sounds are missing & sound in general is very poor.

My last Asus board had AC97 & the board before had SoundMAX, SHIII worked ok on these.
Please help!

I had same problems...you need to do a search for sound max driver updates...but be carefull where u download from...got a virus from one site...sorry cant help you more as to which specific one but my 2000$ computer was confiscated by an angry disgruntled now soon to be EX-wife...!@$#%!@$#% women!

Gee!! someone moved this from the General section to here!

Unfortunately I can't get any drivers from Analog Devices website, they just refer me back to Asus, & they only have the original drivers, almost 2 years old!

Hi Reece, The Driver update or complete new driver install is the best go. I had troubles like yours recently i downloaded free "PC Wizard" it analizes your system and tells you what drivers you want then just google them, download, install, and problem fixed.

however I can't find any info regards where to get driver update.

Hi Reece, confirm your motherboard is the same through PC wizard. System summery and mainboard. (Icons on the left) Copy the motherboard specks and paste in google and see what you come up with.

Only the same drivers!!

Looks like a new Sound card, pox if that had the same problems!
