Changeing Officer/Pettyofficer limits

Ratings and Officers can be promoted, it does not affect the total. There is no limit to the individual ranks. You can have all officers or all chiefs and all your petty officers can be first class if you want. It is an advantage to have a super experienced crew but is not realistic.

It is up to you to maintain a historical balance in your crew as time goes on if it increases your enjoyment of the game. I enjoy running my boat as close to the actual boats in WW2 as I can. I rotate out an officer and two chiefs each patrol. I also allow two of my senior petty officers to become chiefs on other boats, promoting the rest of my crew to fill the rankings. Since I am now running the RUIM mod I rotate out the chiefs that become warrant officers.
