No it doesn't. It only expands the help. You can freely use it in your mod of course.

Took on a convoy. I hit the first target with one torpedo and his the second with one torpedo. Used manual targeting on both targets. I forget to check their flags, but assumed they were allied ships since they were in my patrol area. Wrongamundo. I hit two German KKM(E) merchants.

I should have checked and looked at my new mod to confirm.
