Better rain mod?

As I am frequently running into quite a few heavy rain storms on my return back to port,I was wondering if there is a better rain mod,one that improves the rain texture and makes the rain streaks look less white,which is very unrealistic.I am SURE I have seen the mod somewhere,just cant find it
Strangely,I am one of the few captains that actually doesnt mind ploughing through the elements for a few hours and so rain is no problem to me,I just want it to look more real and less...how can I explain,less solid looking!,a more subtle appearance is better.
Wind,storms,thunder,i'll take it all! thats an Englishman for ya!

All I am asking is that someone point me to the link for the mod,if there is one that is.There HAS to be a mod for this as the default rain is just plain unrealistic

I got the download you directed me to,but I am wondering exactly where to install it.I have a feeling it overwrites the:
/data folder?

If anyone can direct me how to install this as there is no readme file included that would be great
