Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but on the bright side, I lived for two summer breaks or 6 months on ramen noodles and condiment sandwiches. I can post recipes if you would like. The key to ramen is finding other ways to jazz it up....I must say, week old hummus with lime juice is killer, if you could add a green onion or two, you are living da vida loca!

Good luck and god bless, brother!

Dal and rice. It kept a billion indians thriving in poverty for centuries!

Good to hear from you CCIP. I hope things pick up for you soon

Hi everyone,

Well, guess what, I made it

I've finally arrived at my new school after passing my Masters degree with distinction. Sort of a classic ending where hard work pays off - and hard work it was! I've never worked as hard as I have in the last couple of months (and I worked 60-hour weeks before that), and even my profs doubted I could make it - but I sure did, guess I was just desperate enough for it. I was sleep-deprived for weeks and literally did nothing but read and write all along - so now it all feels sort of like a blur to me, and I really need some time and a few cold ones to wind down from all the crazy work.

So, now I'm starting my PhD studies here (which I'll take much more slowly - I'm giving myself no less than 4 years for this) and sure do have access to the internet. My computer isn't so great anymore (needless to say, had to get rid of my previous one to settle some debt), so no SHIV for a while, but I'll no doubt be back to my old subsim hobbies in due time. Just need a bit of a breather now, eh

So I'll be catching up here starting now. Glad to be back!
