The commission is also looking at forcing youngsters to wear cycle helmets and making schoolbooks lighter so children don't injure themselves or tire themselves out carrying them around all day, the paper added.

Eeeek! These things are cult over here! You can see adults spending ten minutes standing at thr table with the eggs, shaking them to their ear and try to find the one with the right surprise just for them. After they shook half a hundred eggs, they buy one, then.

Adult behave more idiotic at these opportunities than any child would ever do, so I assume the EU officials were about launching an anti-idiot-campaing, but then disliked the idea of shooing themselves in it's execution, so they focussed on the chocolate egg issue instead.

lighter schoolbooks? How about teaching those kids to pack their stuff the night before going to school? It's not the weight of the books per se, but that they carry all of them around even when they don't need them. While I certainly agree that the spine will get much more strained when you have to carry much books in a backpack, especially at a younger age, to make the books lighter is certainly not the right way.

Forcing the kids to wear cycle helmets? How about making the parents do their job?
