Battle of Midway??

Hi everybody

Im pretty new to SH4 and I find it very addictive.

Can I participate in the battle of midway, I have a mission to land some commandos, but on the way I receive a radio massage ordering all petrole craft to intercept the incomming japanes. I was very close to midway so I deploy north-west of midway. But I see japanes planes. I could use a tip.

Since you are new to SH4, I'll give you what I didn't get when I started playing SH4. Make darn sure after you patch to 1.4 or 1.5 you change the "shortcut path" at the end to = sh4.exe, all the patches for some strange reason change that path to = gu.exe which causes a whole sorts of loading of saved game crashes. Theres a post a few rows down on this whole subject you should read if you want to enjoy SH4 and not want to destroy SH4.

Yes, you can participate in the Battle of Midway. In my career campaign, I was given a mission along the coast of Japan. On my way there I went past Midway. Before I knew it, I found myself right in front of the carrier fleet heading towards Midway. I was able to shoot some fish at a CV, but my computer CTD when the torpedos hit the ship. I had saved when contact was made, but on the reload, the same thing happened. I'm still not sure if this was a hardware or software issue.

After reloading the save 3 or 4 times and having the same thing happen, I decided to reload from when I left port. I was still able to find the fleet, but I was too far out of position to do anything about it.

Sorry Systemlord I did not fully read your answer. You are right there is a thread telling where the fleet is
