Why not use the "Ctrl + Enter" combination? "G" is still one key whereas ctrl + enter is 2, and even more unlikely that a torp would be fired accidentally.

Excellent idea. I'll see if I can figure out how to plug that in. Probably be working on it all night now that you said it could be done. ![]() |

TIP:
You could simply replace your Commands Cfg file with the one from TMO mod. No need to worry about which key to assign for which command..they already did the foot work for you. Plus...along with the ENTER for Fire Torpedos command being reassigned a bunch of inactive commands have been activated like...weather..range to end ect...ect...ect... I know I was trying to DIY before the light went off and I said Duh... ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yup one of the most frustrating choices for key commands ever.
Putting the fire torpedo right next to the most commonly used key in the game (time accellerate)... not a good idea. Its the first thing I mod with a fresh install. ![]() Ive probably wasted a dozen or so torpedos prior to changing it to ctrl+enter ![]() Oh and wanted to add another pet peve of mine the 'surface' key S and the 'dive' key D being right next to each other, has gotten me killed during a couple of late night sessions after a few adult beverages. "Surface the boat" (presses d)...soon the crew is crying out and taking damage... oops better suface NOW... press d again.... POP ! ![]() Last edited by SteamWake; 08-06-08 at 11:36 AM. |

My solution has always been to take a screwdriver and pop out the small enter-key. Never waisted a torp since, but this might work too... :hmm:

I was able to double key the"G" key. Now you have to press Shift G to fire a torpedo. And as far as sinking the boat with a crash dive and a minor hull breach. It went straight to the bottom, did not pass go and I did not collect $500. It's those damn aircraft that come out of no where. I've actually had very good luck by calling up the AA gun crew and watching them shoot them down. I'd like to give them a medal their so good. Way to go boy's. Pearl looks good right after the bombing. They did a nice job. Although it is odd to find a destroyer on fire in March of 42. Is there something I missed or their not telling us. Did the Japanese have another go at Pearl. All things considered it's a real fun game.
