I dropped out because writing my patrol log became too painfull after braking my hand. I need to write a detailed patrol log in order to better immerse myself and found I just couldn't do it with the gummy hand. So I downloaded and started playing WAC 3. I'll finish giving that a spin and then i'll be back to WAW.

I'll probably start a new career beacuse I'll have to re-enter my patrol logs again (due to the DB crash that happened 2 months ago) if I want to sustain my current career.

Thats not to say WAW is not well managed people, on the contrary, its very professionaly managed by a dedicated and comitted team of flotila commanders and guys with a high level of technical know-how. I'll even go as far as to say that WAW is really the only reason I play SH3, which in turn keeps me connected to the SH3 community and thus enables me to learn of and try new SH3 mods.

WAC and WAW both strive for a common goal, namely immersion.

WACs historical events seem to be vey well scripted, allowing us to really feel we're playing a part in a bigger picture rather than the usual feeling of being alone in the Atlantic all the time.

WAW brings us U-Boat commanders into a role-played military framework where we are assigned to flottilles, assigned our patrol orders, instructed on available equiment upgrades, even told our allowable torpedo loadouts. All in keeping with what was historically accurate at the time of your patrol. So whilst you cast off into the "immersive" SH3 campign, you also cast off from WAW with a feeling your part of something bigger and not on yer own in this war. You'll radio weather reports back every 4 days, and hopefully the occasional contact report. You'll keep BdU informed of your fuel level and number of fish.

Hopefully, WAW and WAC will continue their individual paths to the same goal and unite into what surely would be considered the mother of all "immersions".

That looks very promising indeed for the ones looking for a wolfpack play online.

We had that in mind but it grew too large to manage together with what we already have. I think I will register myself!

Cheers

Personally I tried WaW when the new campaign started and I am very happy with it. As Per said it's really great fun and I recommend it to everyone.

Another recommendation from me for WaW!

Used to play during WaW1 and I think few patrols in WaW2, very immersive.
