Stingers and big guns. What more can you say?

-S

This kid here is controlling it, though the scan rate on the CRT/FLIR system is much slower than my camera, so even though I could see a full image, you can't really see anything on the display:

Trust me - that chick (not a guy) was about 5' 6". The angle and the bulk of her gear was making her look like that!

Default C-5

Man, one thing that is hard to imagine, even from these pics, is the size of this plane! Not only could you fit your house in one of these, you could probably include your neighbors houes, and still have room for a tank! What it reminds me of is a shopping mall! Its a long walk simply walking down that cargo bay!!!

-S

PS. Notice how most people near this plane are simply looking UP!

Pic of the tie downs:

Uhmm - look how far away those people are! I mean, that is way over there to the other side of this plane, and this is on the 'inside'!!!

This pic of this tail - man that made me feel small or insignificant! That this is way way way up there! And this thing flies??? Crazy!:

It looked like an absolutely fantastic day out. Great photographer friendly weather too.
Thanks for sharing.

Not done yet. I'll see if I can put some more up tonight. Heading out to get some King crab legs first though. BB.

Default Striker

I had fun in the Striker! You could do pretty much whatever you want, and the guys really didn't care! I'll show a little of what this thing had on board:

-S

I didn't know they had Toughbooks on these things?:

Some of the equipment racks on the left side:

Now here is the cool part. Here is a pic of the turret that I was controlling:

Here is the view you get from the turret. You could select normal optics, or FLIR of course. FLIR choices are hot cold or cold hot of course. Zoom factors on the FLIR side are not as extensive as for the normal optics. I should have taken a pic of the joystick that controls all this, but I forgot. I was too busy screwing around with checking things out! Anyway, the basic controls are the middle HAT controls zoom level, and the to manuver the turret, you have to hold the pinky switch. Looks similar to a FLCS controller actually. I was a little low on ammo though! I figured the best shot was to show a hot on white FLIR image so you can see what you can see out of this thing:

Default Tora Tora Tora!

This was a re-enactment of the attack on Pearl Harbor. It was pretty cool to watch with all the bombs, and gunfire, etc.

Default Rivet Joints

Now here is one 'VERY' hard aircraft to photgraph! I was completely blown away that this plane was here and on public display! I've personally never seen one in real life, and I probably will never ever again see one in real life! Only 16 exist, but these are 16 EXTREMELY scary planes to any foreign power. Think SR-71 was America's premeir spy plane? Think again!

The Soviet Union was so scared of this plane, that the risked shooting down a normal airliner in the 1980's just to make sure this plane was not flying near its airspace! They actually shot down a normal airliner in this case, killing hundreds.

Today, lets just say its capabilities have grown 10 fold. Talking with these guys, they of course will not tell you a single thing. So, this planes mystery continues for me. You can get an idea of its capabilities though by simply analyzing it. Any electronic transmission from a cell phone to a radar sig to a sat transmission does not escape this plane. It makes of the three teir survallance package of AWACS, Joint STARS, and Rivet Joints. Most people know nothing of what this plane does and few actually know what it can do. Anyway, I have plenty of pics to share:

-S

PS. I'm sure they would shoot you on site if you tried to get close to it. It had the same restriction the F-22's had.
