Do u have any tools or applications running using macros or scripts to manipulate the output of the KB ? If so kill them before launching the game. Some older systems have problems to recognize usb KBs correctly, changing the KB to a different usb-plugin of the puter sometimes fix it.

PS: if the game is really only paused u can unpause it by clicking on the "+" of the HUD (GUI). if nothing happens or the value is not zero the game isnt paused and the above hints are irrelevant.

well im not sure what macros and scripts are to be honest so i wouldnt know if tools are the problem! but ive hit the "+" key very many times...it may unpause for about .000001 of a second lol and then go back to pause! i did it enough to where i could actually see my crew but it just wouldnt unpause...

ok well i just compared my config file with the one on that thread! everything was the same except for the keyblanguage!

this is what i get after hitting the pause button to UNpause it....and thats as far as i can get

i dont know...i might just remove it and do another clean install if no one really knows what the problem might be?!?!?!

Check you pause key.
It may be stuck.
As some of the guys here have me spew various fluids on my keyboards
from time to time,
I have had stuck keys.
Try a different keyboard if you can.
You know,
go to neighbors house,
knock on door.
When they answer?

Im new to this game...like a month new at the most! so im not sure what SH 3 Commander is!? and the only thing in my main.cfg in the time compression part that is set to "0" is the TimeStop! plus i cant even make it out of the harbor cuz i cant even get it to show my crew in the ship...

...and no my pause button isn't stuck!

Go for a full reinstallation....a PITA I know, but probably your quickest solution in the long term.

Sh 3 Commander sets a lot of perimeters in the game. Such as you want a historically link careers, u-boat availabilities, historical or not, it gives you a choice of no fatigue or a type of fatigue you may be interested in, randomizes gramaphone tracks, you can change your grid area if you don't like the one they are sending you too, etc. If you have a particular u-boat commander you like, you can use their picture but it will have your name, etc. It is a JcJones mod, it should be available in most peoples file fronts. I use it cause it enhances the game. I will also recommend SH3 Generator as it will print you a set of orders like an Intelligence report in which both sides used during the war!

You dont have to have SH3commander
Its a seperate mod that does so many things but isnt needed

Your SH3 install sounds messed
remove game using disc
Delete SilentHunterIII folder and the SH3 folder in my documents

Then reinstall SH3
Patch to 1.4 if you disc not already come patched
Then load GWX 2
Then GWX 2.1
Then the bugfix

Play

Then add more mods using JSGME when you happy plays ok
