Hi Sky;

Yes indeed, the dictionary definition of "overtaxed" includes being overworked or overstrained, but I think everybody saw it and immediately thought "too many taxes". Even then I don't know why anyone would be upset if said Americans are overtaxed by that meaning - most of us think so too.

Good post, even though I could care less about Hellary and her problems.

I also considered "overbidden" instead of "overtaxed", but was not sure if that was possible to use in the meaning I intended: "überreizt" in the meaning of overbidding your cards.
