The BBC article cuts it very short and excludes the deeper intricacies that made the French High Court rule like it did, that'S why I link the German and French article as well.
the important thing is the very reasonable and logic explanation of the Court why it denied citizenship to that woman. http://www.lemonde.fr/societe/articl...ens_id=1072404 http://news.bbc.co.uk/ http://www.welt.de/politik/article22...in_Burkas.html A person showing a behavior that is incompatible with the values and moral order as expressed in the French constitution has no right to demand French citizenship then. Healthy reason in action - more of that please! Citizenship is more than just an official paper with a stamp on it. It must be more than that. It is a mental attitude and a desire by heart, not just a profane formality in a bureaucratic context. Thgat'S why I have no sympathy that in most states citizenship cannot be nullified. regarding immigrants I would want very tight conditions for that being possible, but I would like the possibility in principle. If you move to a foreign culture and live there, you have to behave according to it's rules, and not just benefit from your new rights, but also fulfill your duties. And again, this goes far beyond a purely bureaucratic, or juristical context. You have to adapt your inner attitude. If your attiotutde is what separates you from your new "home", one is wondering why you even moved into that new home in the first. In France, the Jewish kippa and the Islamic headscarf are banned in public schools since 2004. Students ignoring that ban usually get kicked off the school.

Finally! I already thought Europe had surrendered to the Islamic influence.
@Skybird Now imagine the same here in Germany. What an uproar would happen because we are discriminating someone.... ![]() |

But she still is in service - with that queer understanding of the role of the German law and the content of the german constitution inside Germany! That is like a policeofficer who does not know the difference between legal and criminal.
