Default Good news on the Global warming front?

Quote:
Large amounts of ozone – around 50 percent more than predicted by the world's state-of-the-art climate models – are being destroyed in the lower atmosphere over the tropical Atlantic Ocean. Published today (26th June '08) in the scientific journal, Nature, this startling discovery was made by a team of scientists from the UK's National Centre for Atmospheric Science and Universities of York and Leeds. It has particular significance because ozone in the lower atmosphere acts as a greenhouse gas and its destruction also leads to the removal of the third most abundant greenhouse gas; methane.

Carlin sums it up.

"The planet isn't going anywhere, we are."

Nature will eventually heal the planet, and eliminate us in the process.

A good perspective on a worthless scare. Apologies for posting another Stossel video but a cursory evaluation of existing research reinforces his points.
Remember scientists, like everyone else, compete for limited resources, namely money, the universal resource. If they can produce an imminent threat, they will recieve more money from people who don't know enough refute them. Although I doubt they do this with the idea of scamming the government in mind, people do have a tendency to rationalize things to fit their needs. I, myself have done this many times. Please consider all the information available before forming an opinion.
