Default Manilla port

Hi all...

I am currently playing the American campaign, SHIV 1.5.

I am on my first patrol, but have been at sea for some time, completing new objectives. So, recently my home port was overun or whatever whilst I was out doing my thing. Now it seems I have no port to return to. So my question is...

What shall I do now?

Thanx for your time all.

Your new port is shown on the map...

Your new home port is the map icon that looks a little different from the others with a tilted blue anchor.

Thanx all. I forgot to mention that it wasn't shown on the map, at the time that I wrote this, but after going back to the game, there it was...Surabaya.

I imagine eventually I'll be forced to Pearl Harbor. I hate travelling so far to complete patrols from there. I like Surabaya.

You will be relocated to Perth next, and you'll stay there (AFAIK)

You guys forgot to tell runningdeer to wave goodbye to all the hookers in Manila as he departed!

I visited Subic Bay in transit back in the 80's. Went to town with a friend -- and even I was stunned. You could walk, maybe, ten feet before yet another very attractive young lady would make her pitch.

Now in SH3, they have a band playing and wellwishers waving as you depart in a U-Boat. I've often thought in SH4 that the pier in Manilla should be crowed shoulder to shoulder with ladies of the evening as a fleet boat departs!

Regards,
Feltan

I spent a lot of time at Subic in 1970. Sure there were girls in Olongapo, but I don't recall seeing anything like that on the docks, or on base.

But I'm old, and the memory is faulty.

Oh, I know, I didn't see anything like that on base either for the brief time I was there.....just a little artistic licence was all I was suggesting. Since you can't get into town in the game, bring the town to the docks.

Oops

Good point. Sometimes I get too literal.

Little know historical fact: The high quality of prostitutes in Manila was actually what made MacArthur say "I shall return".

:rotfl:

And here I always thought it was because he buried his money in the back yard.

Hah! Well I guess the guy could have more reasons for doing something.
