Its the banks who own everything not the Government. Banks! they own the oil, military etc. Everything goes throught a handfull of powerful people in the world. They rule. We follow and suffer because of them. They're the problem.

In this case, yes. We had no problems the entire time it was regulated. This is a product of deregulation. Things that are important to National Security should be regulated. I consider this one of them since this country is based on it. It's no different than the US Gov regulating the military in my opinion.

If they want to hype up the price of a joystick. Thats fine, I don't need to buy it. Gas i cannot go through life without buying.

Govt regulation?

OMG Subman, is that really you posting there?

Carry on at this rate and you'll singing the internationale and hanging a red flag outside your house before the weekend is out comrade!

Where do you think all that money that was lent as mortgages and credit has gone. Banks don't want to lend money but they have to put it somewhere and that where is oil.

I'm in a tricky position here because at the moment with the oil price being high my company gets lots of work...being in the oil service sector. On the other hand prices are just getting stupid. But what comes up must come down. The laws of physics apply to money too.

Just saw Syriana last night and I think this quote from the film is applicable to this thread:

"Some trust fund prosecutor, got off-message at Yale, thinks he's gonna run this up the flagpole, make a name for himself, maybe get elected some two-bit, congressman from nowhere, with the result that Russia or China can suddenly start having, at our expense, all the advantages we enjoy here. No, I tell you. No, sir. Corruption charges! Corruption? Corruption is government intrusion into market efficiencies in the form of regulations. That's Milton Friedman. He got a goddamn Nobel Prize. We have laws against it precisely so we can get away with it. Corruption is our protection. Corruption keeps us safe and warm. Corruption is why you and I are prancing around in here instead of fighting over scraps of meat out in the streets. Corruption is why we win."
