hmmm, I have the following file: GWX_2.1_Cfg_4_SH3Cmdr3.0.7z from the GWX site already and it doesn't include a 'names_places.lst', just the ones I previously mentioned.

Am confused now, as the 'new files' for SH3 Commander to be compatible with GWX 2.1 are the ones I have listed from the above named .7zip file...

it supposed to be the final version where the fix aint more necessairy
the additional plugin

hmmm, still none the wiser.
Looks like my new career will be scrapped in favour of a complete reinstall of SH, patches, gwx 2.1, and whatever the latest version of SH3 commander is according to the downloads hosted by wolfhunter.
I'm tired of messing about with filtering compatible mods and programs.
