Agreed. Our naval leaders refused to listen to British advice until they learned for themselves. No convoys. Lit up ships steaming in front of lit up cities. It was a mess for some time after we entered the war.

Too true!
The waters off the East coast of the US were indeed a "happy hunting ground" for Uboats during the early part of the Us' involvement in WW2. Don't waste your eels on the long trip across the Atlantic!!!!.......plenty of well-lit, juicy tankers to hit when you arrive. Sink 'em all! Dave |
